Our classes end with an improvised tango by Jacqueline and Anthony, demonstrating the moves learnt. You will then have time to stay back and dance after the class. Our students love this more informal time to practice their skills and catch up with their friends.
We offer private bridal dance lessons ensuring that you will get the best instruction possible tailored to your needs. Our choreographs are individually created to suit your imagination. From a simple but elegant styled and structured wedding dance to a fully choreographed Tango. Learning together, enjoying the time away from the stress of the preparation. We can help you to choose the music or you bring your own music.
Tango Spirit can create a fun experience to your guests at birthdays, weddings, or corporate functions. Feel free and choose a performance by us and our performance group and/or an introduction lesson.

Teachers
Jacqueline Gutierrez Simpson, born in Chile, initiated her Tango journey in 1995 and 2001, she started teaching in Sydney, Australia. From 2001 to 2006, she worked for The World Tango Festival in Buenos Aires as an interpreter for the classes of Argentinean maestros like Juan Carlos Copes, Maria Nieves, Javier Rodriguez, Geraldine Rojas, Tete Rusconi and many others. Jacqueline was one of the founders of Sydney Tango 2003 – 2022 and one of the directors of Tango Entre Amigos from 2001 to 2017.
In 2007, in collaboration with Anthony Miller, she founded the prestigious school Tango Spirit, where young and mature individuals are introduced to tango and made it part of their lives.
From 2007 to 2008, Jacqueline was asked to participate in a research study with the University of New England and McGill, demonstrating that tango is as effective as meditation as an alternative therapy for depression.
She is the first teacher in Sydney to run regular classes on technique, adornos and the essence of Tango for women since 2006.
Jacqueline has taught and performed in Santiago de Chile (2006), Bali (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2023), Jakarta (2017), Tokyo (2018, 2019, 2022, 2023), and Shanghai (2015).
In 2022, Jacqueline was a protagonist for 100 years of Disney at Westfield and was selected as one of the main artists for the award-winning documentary Beats of Colour by Ver Mas Australia.
She has shared her teaching expertise and experience to train and coach couples to compete at the preliminaries of The World Tango Championship in Bali (2023) and Auckland (2024).
Anthony Miller M.Sc., PLAY THE RIGHT TANGO AT THE RIGHT MOMENT. Master of Technical Sciences in robotics, artificial intelligence, and morphological forecasting models. Now Director of animation and software development. Anthony works with sound recording, postproduction, and song restoration daily. Anthony is a director of videography and music producer. With an excellent knowledge and passion for tango and a collection of many rare and unavailable tracks, Anthony offers an unforgettable evening for those who appreciate tango. Anthony is a principal of Sydney tango school ‘Tango Spirit‘ and the resident DJ at Tango Spirit‘s Milongas Sydney. Has been invited to dance with Jacqueline and DJ at many places and festivals worldwide: Santiago, Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Buenos Aires, Ljubljana, Lviv, Vladivostok, Istanbul, Bali, Jakarta, Krakov, Wellington, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Adelaide. Anthony was the official DJ for the Mundial Preliminaries in Indonesia and Istanbul. He also runs DJ Classes in Sydney and worldwide.
